Do You Hear God?

Do You Hear God?

When was the last time you felt like you heard God speaking to you? Did you know the Father communicates with us in many different ways? Sometimes it’s through his written words. Other times you can feel his presence when you are praying or crying out to him. You might even feel pins and needles all over your body and know that he was there right beside you.

Have you felt his gentle nudge lately? Do you feel like his word still holds power and truth even today? Hebrews 4:12For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of the soul and of spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” His words are still alive today. The world is constantly evolving and changing all around us. We can think that even the written words will change, but they won’t. They never will. Throughout the ages, his words remain the same. The words had power yesterday, and they still have power today. The message is the same. The wisdom, love, and guidance haven’t changed. I don’t know about you, but I find that knowledge so comforting. When everything around me changes, the words of my Father remain the same.

What does your heart look like? Does it beat for the Father or the world? You can’t have it both ways. You can’t be one foot in and one foot out. Your either all in for the world, or you are all in for the Father. John 15:19If you belong to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you“. Does the world hate you? The Father’s already chosen you. Have you made up your mind to completely choose him? Have you let his words take over your body, heart, mind, and soul? So I ask you again, dear readers, when was the last time you heard the Father speaking to you? When was the last time you felt him pulling and tugging on your heart?

We live in a noisy and chaotic world. The world is full of challenges, things, and people that often demand our attention. If we’re not careful, we can miss what the Father is trying to tell us. We can get so used to the noise all around that we can forget how to listen to his still, small voice. We can stop spending time with him. We can stop carving out quiet times for him each day. The thing is, though, and it’s so important to allow time for the Father to speak to us. That’s the time when he’s teaching us new things. That’s the time when he’s molding us and changing us. In the quiet time, that’s when we can listen, learn and just let him be the God and Father that he is. Psalm 46:10Be Still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

When was the last time you were still? When’s the last time you were quiet? When did you last ask him to help you quiet the noise around you? Has it been a while since you told him that he was welcome in your heart, in your home, and your life? If so, please don’t give up. Chances are you’ve just gotten lost somewhere along the way. I’ve been there. I was lost before too. I gave in to the noise all around me. I gave into the chaos of life. The thing is, he never stopped trying to reach me, and he hasn’t stopped trying to reach you either. You have to get to the point where you are tired of living off the worldly path. The path of the lost, confused, and lonely. Psalm 119:9How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to the word“.

If you’re lost, it’s not too late for you to be found. Make today the day that you say no of more ignoring God. No more choosing to make time for everything and everyone but him. He’s too important to miss out on. The time is now. It’s not tomorrow. It’s now. He’s calling. Will you answer? Will you listen?

James 4:8Come near to God, and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded“. Choose to come near to him. He will embrace you with arms open wide. Ask him to forgive you for all the time’s when you didn’t listen to him. He will forgive you for the times when you didn’t make him a priority in your life. He will change your heart. He has the power to do it, and he is willing. He will help you with any areas of struggle. He loves you, and he wants to work within you—all you have to be willing and open.

Be blessed today in the Lord.

  1. This is Awesome.

I am so glad to have Jesus in my heart and know that it isn’t easy stepping out of the world, but it is so worth it.

His portion for us is so much better than the portion we give ourselves without Him.

I sure do love my Jesus. Have a blessed and wonderful day in Jesus.
